Yuletide 2023
Oct. 14th, 2023 12:54 pmHello Yulewriter! I'm so excited you're writing for me, and will love anything you write. Please feel free to use anything in my requests or this letter as inspiration, or alternately feel free to ignore everything but the DNWs and follow your heart! (Optional details are optional!) I will be genuinely thrilled to get absolutely anything for any of these canons.
I requested these fandoms because I adore canon and if you want to stick to before/during/after canon I will love it. I'm also a fan of AUs (space pirates is always a go), tropes (Fake dating! There's Only One Bed!), crossovers or fusions with other fandoms I've requested/written/bookmarked, etc. I haven't included any AU-specific prompts, but please take this as blanket permission to go AU for any of my requested fandoms if you'd like. If you're thinking about writing something and it's not in my DNWs, please feel free to give it a try!
Treats are welcome and I have gifts turned on.
General DNWs:
My signups:
Fire Island (2022) - Will, Noah
I have watched this movie so many times, and I honestly think it is the best modern AU of Pride and Prejudice. Joel Kim Booster's understanding of what Pride and Prejudice is about shines through - that it's a romance, yes, but it's also a comedy of manners, and a dissection of class and classism, and about recognizing both the awfulness and wonderfulness of family. I love the romance of Fire Island (and how sexy it is, let's be real), but I adore it as a found family story.
Some things I love about Will and Noah: the banter. The way they don't let each other get away with anything. The way their physical and intellectual chemistry intertwines. That they're both explicitly nonmonogamous. That, in the face of all sorts of reasons not to, they're still willing to give each other a chance. I saw someone on Tumblr refer to them as mom friend 4 mom friend - I love how they take care of the people they love, and how well they work together when they do. I also love the way the movie takes on class and race in a clear mirror to Pride and Prejudice, and I'd love to see Will and Noah dealing with their different classes/incomes a little more explicitly post-movie. PWP is also a hell yes - these dudes are very hot and I'd love to see more of them together and/or with (an)other partner(s).
Please also feel free to bring in any other characters from the movie - I truly love the queer found family aspect of it, and would love absolutely anything that includes their chosen family.
Hench - Natalie Zina Walschotts - Anna Tromedlov
I love this amoral bisexual spreadsheet nerd antiheroine. The first time I read this book I fell for her self-perception that she's really a neutral-to-good person who just happens to work for supervillains for the money, but on rereading she is just wildly chaotic evil right from the start. I adore how much she cares about the people she cares about, and how little she gives a shit for anyone else. I love how she inspires loyalty. I love how much she loves data and pattern-finding, and how wildly off-base her judgment is about what patterns are the most important - yes superheroes do damage but that's a terrible reason to work with supervillains, come on. She is the best kind of unreliable narrator, is what I'm saying.
I would love to read shippy/smutty fic where she gets used to her new physical characteristics, with a partner or alone. I lean towards shipping Anna/Quantum Entanglement, but I'm open to other ships too. I'm also super obsessed with Anna's friendship with June - what is June's perspective on the events during and after the book? Is there any possible way for them to reconcile? What would Anna do if June needs help? Anything about Anna and her team would make me so thrilled, I love the found family/loyalty aspects. Or an outside perspective on Anna would also be super interesting - I have a sneaking suspicion that the way Anna sees herself is a liiiiiittle bit different than how others see her.
Lilywhite Boys Series - K. J. Charles - Alexander "Alec" Pyne-ffoulkes, Jerry Crozier
My range of wants for Alec and Jerry spans from curtainfic (they paint a room and get distracted kissing! Alec picks out throw pillows! maybe they adopt a kitten!) to Alec Discovers His Inner Sociopath - I absolutely agree with Jerry that Alec is ruthless and a bad man to cross, and would be thrilled to read more about that side of him.
If you're feeling more plot-driven, I'd be interested to read about what Jerry does once he gets out of the thievery business and how he adjusts to a much quieter kind of life. Or what about a canon divergence where they do decide to go to the continent after Any Old Diamonds? Or any kind of Just One More Heist plot?
If you want to go with smut, I love Jerry and Alec's kink dynamic and would enjoy porn with or without plot! Feel free to go wild with dubcon here - canon lays out their mutual consent well for me, so I'm happy to assume everyone's consenting even when that's not on page. I love how much Jerry pays attention to Alec and encourages and supports his wants, even as the sexual role he plays is ostensibly the opposite of that. One thing I always love is when one character calls a halt or safewords, they pause to figure it out and then keep going, and I would totally love to see Jerry and Alec doing that.
Stacy's Dad - Sub-Radio (Song) - Singer, Stacy's Dad
This is a very silly song and feel free to lean into that, but also I'm really into middle-aged men getting to have fun?? Please make the singer over age 18, but I'm totally good with playing up the age difference and daddy kink. (Not super into little or caretaking kink tho, more the "I'm all grown up now, daddy can't you see" tone of the song.) One thing I enjoy and don't see frequently is younger dom/older sub if you wanted to take it in a kink direction, like maybe the singer gets to introduce Stacy's dad to kink he never had a chance to explore in his previous marriage. The reverse would be pretty great too though - the singer thinks he's going to be the one with more experience in kink, but even though it's the dad's first time with a guy, he actually has quite a lot of experience in kink? I'm good with this being unrequited or requited, ages 18/40 or 30/60, a fun pwp or unlikely love of their life - have fun with it!
To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar (1995) - Vida Boheme, Carol Ann
Okay, gonna be honest - this movie has not aged super well. A lot of the language around gender and race is really cringe-worthy, and the handwaving away of AIDS-related political issues is hard to accept. But this movie holds a special place in my heart as a story about a world in which homophobia and transphobia and misogyny exist, but where people who act poorly can be taught to act better, where good people get beautiful clothes and parties, and where everyone can find their chosen family and be loved for who they are and who they want to be. Dark is fine if you want to lean more towards realism, but I want to keep that sense of hope and love underlying everything.
I love love love Vida and Carol Ann’s relationship, the ways they are like and unlike. I would love anything focused on how these two women challenge each other, bring out the best in each other, and help each other reach beyond what either could imagine on their own. If you wanted to go full on explicit sex I would be absolutely thrilled, but would also love slow burn romance, friendship, missing scene from the movie or where-are-they-now, or even something like compare-and-contrast where they don’t necessarily interact. As always I'm also open to AUs - Vida and Carol Ann as space pirates or bakery owners...? If it floats your goat, I’m there for it.
As far as gendered language for Vida goes, I'm open to whatever you want to use. I headcanon that if Vida were a character today she would think of herself as a trans woman, but I'm also fine with Vida thinking of herself as transgender and/or a woman and/or a man and/or a drag queen.

General DNWs:
- Female characters getting pregnant, wanting to be pregnant, or trying to get pregnant as part of the fic. (Mpreg is fine; referencing canonical pregnancies is fine if it's not the focus of the fic.)
- Infidelity, lying about a sexual or romantic relationship to a partner, hiding a sexual or romantic relationship from a partner. (Consensual nonmonogamy is a hell yes.)
- Fic focused on Christmas.
- High school AUs.
- Sexual acts involving a character under age 18.
- Physical harm or risk of physical harm to characters under age 12.
- Noncon - sexual acts that a character is certain they don't want. I'm fine with and would enjoy a wide variety of dubcon, including consent play in a kink context, a character choosing to participate in sex acts they don't enjoy but their partner does, a character trying a sex act and discovering they don't like it, a character's ability/agency to choose is questionable, outside pressures "forcing" characters to have sex but they're into it, etc.
